Former Bartow midfielder Gauge Smith becomes latest addition to inaugural Webber men's lacrosse recruiting class

Babson Park, Fla. (07/31/2020) — Gauge Smith, a former midfielder from Bartow High School, has signed with the Webber International University men's lacrosse team for the upcoming 2020-21 academic year.

No. 40 Gauge Smith

Position: Midfield

High School: Bartow High School

Height: 6'3"

Weight: 175

Hometown: Lakeland, Florida

Academic Major: Computer Information Systems

Previous College: Emmanuel College

High School Awards: Three-year varsity player

Why Webber: "Webber gives me the opportunity to capitalize on my education and career opportunities while retaining a great college experience."

Tell us about the recruiting process at Webber? "Coach Burdick is not only a great coach, but a greater person. He was helpful, prompt and always available to be in contact with me. I live close to the campus, making cost and location a great fit for me personally."

Personal Statement: "I would like to thank my coach Derek Keating and my parents Sherrie Smith and Loran Smith for all of their support."

Tell us about your siblings: Tanner Smith (27)

What do you love about lacrosse? "I love lacrosse because it's the fastest sport on two feet and feels like no other sport I have played."
