She began her career in higher education as an Admissions Officer at Strayer's Charlotte campus where she rapidly advanced to Admissions Manager.

Said Jefferson "I'm excited about engaging with Charlotte to build partnerships in which students advance their careers and businesses improve the capacities and capabilities of their workforce. It's the ultimate win-win for our students and for our business community."

Said Dr. Keith Wade, the University's President and CEO to whom Jefferson reports "We've got two sprawling residential campuses which feel like resorts - parklike grounds that seem to go on forever, meandering lake fronts, lots of trees for kids to study under on a lazy Sunday afternoon. And we've got a hard hitting on-line program offering a number of degrees on an accelerated timeline. Both of those modes of education are perfect for some. For others, our metropolitan campuses are designed to be near where people are working and to operate around working students' schedules, delivering skills today our students can use on their jobs tomorrow, while helping them build powerful networks of other professionals. For our students we want to be the pipeline to better careers; for our neighbors we want to be the pipeline for incredible talent. We're bullish on in-face higher education for working professionals and we're bullish on Charlotte. And I can't think of anyone better than Ms. Jefferson to accelerate our Charlotte campus into a major part of Charlotte's continued success. "
