Melissa L. Jackson, MBA, has been appointed the inaugural Campus President for St. Andrews University - Charleston effective immediately. Part of the university's plan to bring high quality, face to face higher education to working adults in locations near them and on their schedule, the Charleston campus will initially offer business degrees at both the undergraduate and masters levels.

Jackson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Education and a Master of Business Administration earned, as will be the case for many of her students, while working full time herself. She brings to the campus four years of enrollment management experience and over eleven years of campus director experience.

Said Jackson "while on-line works for many, there's definitely a desire for face to face education. One of the exciting things about our metropolitan campuses are working adult don't have to work around the schedule or needs of traditional students. Everything - from location to schedule to networking activities - is built around the needs of our working adult students. As someone who actually lives in the community and who pursued part of her education while working full time, I understand both the dreams and what it takes to achieve them."

Said Dr. Keith Wade, the University's President and CEO to whom Jackson reports "what we're really trying to do at our metropolitan campuses is provide working adults with educational opportunities made especially for them. Melissa brings over fifteen years of experience helping working adults further their careers through higher education. We have two excellent residential campuses for traditional students seeking 'the college experience'. We have completely on-line degrees for those who want that. But our metropolitan campuses are all about providing working adults with high quality education, face to face, near their offices and after work. And Ms. Jackson brings to Charleston a great deal of experience doing just that. She's going to do great things."

Jackson, a Charleston resident, was formerly a board member for the Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club and is active in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the Junior League of Savannah where she formerly served as the President.

Established in 1927 by Roger Babson as the first college chartered under Florida's then new charitable and educational laws, and America's second school of business for women, our campuses in Babson Park, FL (residential); Charleston, SC; Charlotte, NC; Columbia, SC; Laurinburg, NC (residential); Miami Lakes, FL (opening 2021); Pinehurst, NC; and West Palm Beach, FL (opening 2021) now educate men and women from over 50 different nations.
