Stuart Winsby returns to Webber as Interim Head Golf Coach
Babson Park, Fla. (08/28/2020) — After a four-year playing career as a collegiate golfer at Webber International University, Stuart Winsby has been announced four years later as the Warriors' Interim Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach by Director of Athletics Brad Niethammer.
Shortly after graduating with his Bachelor's degree in computer information systems from Webber in 2016, Winsby went on to become the Junior Network Administrator at Webber while also obtaining his MBA from Webber in sport business management in 2018.
As a player, Winsby and his team advanced to the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship during each of his final three seasons (2014, 2015, 2016), finishing in 13th place in 2014 and 17th in 2016. During Winsby's junior season in 2014-15, the Warriors achieved their lowest national championship finish in program history by finishing in 10th place.
"I am excited to be coming back to Webber to coach and dive into the program that I went through as a player," said Winsby. "I am dedicated to helping us get back to nationals like we did when I was a player. We want to win, and that is what we will do."
As a sophomore in 2013-14, Winsby finished in 12th place individually at The Sun Conference Championship with a 54-hole total of 219 (76-70-73), and then two years later as a senior in 2015-16, he finished ninth with a total of 217 (72-72-73) and was later named an NAIA Third-Team All-American.
"We are excited to have Stuart take over our golf program," said Niethammer. "I've always been a big fan of Webber alumni coming back to coach and giving back to the place that gave them their opportunity and chance to compete. I'm looking forward to watching Stuart grow as a coach and seeing where he can take our golf program."
Please join us in congratulating Coach Stuart Winsby on being the next Head Golf Coach at Webber International University.
