Webber men's lacrosse announces inaugural recruiting class

Babson Park, Fla. (05/08/2020) — In anticipation for the upcoming 2021 men's lacrosse season, the first ever season for lacrosse at Webber International University, Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Chris Burdick has announced his inaugural recruiting class for the 2020-21 academic year.

Coach Burdick said, "I would like to welcome the first lacrosse recruiting class to the Webber family. This group of young men have accepted the daunting challenge of starting a new chapter for athletics at the university. Each one of these men were carefully selected based on a number of criteria, most of which is the character and integrity that they bring to Babson Park as the foundation for our men's lacrosse program. "

The inaugural lacrosse recruiting class at Webber is very well stocked in each position, adding depth to a first year program that is quite uncommon. The 2021 roster will carry players from at least sixteen different states and Canadian provinces. The roster offers a great balance of players in each position with depth in the goal and at the face off, arguably two of the most important positions in the sport. While the majority of the roster will be filled with freshman, there is a good balance of upperclassmen transfers and MBA fifth-year student-athletes on the roster. There is also an infusion of Canadian players adding slick stick work and box indoor style to the program.

Coach Burdick and the rest of the Warriors' coaching staff are still actively recruiting for their inaugural season of competition within the NAIA.

Coach Burdick concluded, "I would like to thank our coaching staff and current student-athletes for their contributions to building this recruiting class as well as the tireless efforts from our admissions department and financial aid office. Special thanks to Nellie Madrigal and Stephen Thomas in admissions who put a ton of hours in on this group."
