Webber men's soccer holds Signing Day
Babson Park, Fla. (07/20/2020) — The Webber International University men's soccer team held a Summer Signing Day on Sunday, July 19, in Babson Park, Florida, as 11 future Warriors inked their names for the upcoming 2020 season.
"I am very excited about our future Webber Warrior men's soccer players," said Head Men's Soccer Coach Neil Cockburn. "Not only do they have a lot of talent, but they have great character, and I am extremely eager for them to become a part of our Warrior family. It was a great day to recognize our future players with their families, and it was nice to do something positive for our prospects with all of the difficult things happening in the world today."
Each of the 11 future Warriors are freshman from the state of Florida.
Below are the 2020 Summer Signing Day additions for the Webber men's soccer team:
Name: Trevor Robinson
Position: Center Back
Hometown: Deltona, Fla.
High School: Deltona High School
Club Team: Deltona Youth Soccer Club (DYSC)
Previous Academic Accomplishments: Associate of Arts degree, Graduated third in class, National Honors Society.
Previous Athletic Accomplishments: Rookie of the Year (2016-2017), All-Area Honorable Mention (2018-2019), All-Area First-Team (2019-2020), North Florida All-Stars East Roster, Captain three years for varsity soccer, MVP Award Deltona High Varsity Soccer (2019-2020).
Academic Major: Computer Information Systems

Who would you like to thank for this opportunity? I would like to thank my parents for supporting me in my endeavors no matter what, as well as my former teammates who pushed me to be the best I could, and lastly coach Neil Cockburn for giving me the chance to follow my dream of playing college ball.
Why Webber? Webber was a spot that felt like home, not only was I welcomed with open arms, but I was accepted as a part of the family the day I stepped foot on campus and met Coach Cockburn. It just feels right.
What are you looking forward to about Webber? I am looking forward to meeting my new teammates and being a part of an environment that pushes to succeed to the best of their ability. Not only this, but achieving my academic goals and finding what I want to pursue will be huge.
What do you love about your sport? I love the energy, the skill it takes, and the overall feel of the game. Soccer not only pushes the body, but the mind in ways that I never thought possible. I can't wait to push those boundaries even farther at Webber.

Why Webber? Because I prefer a smaller school over a more popular school. There seems to be plenty of resources at the school and the athletics are everything I am looking for.
